Combo-1 Issue with tuning & swapping

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Linda 4.0.5.173+FSUIPC7.1.0 clean install
During startup of MSFS COM panel  can be tuned, selected and swapped for all functions; COM-NAV-ADF-DME-TRN
Just before the Welcome page of MSFS kick in, the COM functions get locked, cannot be tuned or swapped.

Any clou?

Which aircraft are you using? I have tried with the C152 and A32NX and all radio functions on my MCP2a (Airbus) are working.

Hi Andrew, tks for coming back; I'm just recovering from a Windows 21H1 new OS; will make a fresh install and let you know.

Thank you for the video. What are you seeing on the cockpit radio?

I am unable to investigate at the moment due to my MSFS2020 being broken.

@KLM149 Having got my MSFS2020 working again I was able to carry out further testing. With LINDA 4.0.x, FSUIPC 7.1.0 and the default C152 my MCP2a (Airbus) is displaying and controlling the COM1 correctly albeit with 2 decimal places instead of 3 decimal places. I can not reproduce the issue you showed in the video.

However, I have noticed that new decimal offsets have been added to provide full frequency coverage for COM1 and COM2. This should allow me to consider 3 decimal place frequency management. These are:

COM1 active x05C4 4 bytes

COM1 stby x05CC 4 bytes

COM2 active x05C8 4 bytes

COM2 stby x05D0 4 bytes

It will require significant rework to the core LINDA code to implement these changes. This will take a little time do so a little patience will be required.

@KLM149 with P3D5.1, LINDA 3.2.7 and the Aerosoft Airbus A3XX I have been able to reproduce the radio behaviour shown in your video (freq keeps resetting and change). It does not affect other aircraft like the A2A C172. I have yet to determine the cause but it is a start.

@KLM149 as a result of further investigation I can only conclude that the problem you reported is specific to certain aircraft (like Aerosoft Airbus A3XX). I found that when I attempted to change the COM frequency using the VRi MCP radio knob it briefly changed in the virtual cockpit and immediately changed back to the previous value. Within half a second the MCP radio display changed back to this previous value. This did not happen with other aircraft like the A2A C172 or FBW A320.

As the problem is being caused by certain aircraft models there is nothing I can see to fix it.
