FSX/SimConnect problem isolated!

Featured Replies

Well, I believe I have found the reason for the FSUIPC reports of:"**** No SimConnect events or states being received! Re-connecting now ... ****"These events cause severe stuttering and often loss of flight controls.Every 30 minutes FSX feels the need to verify that it has been activated. This shows up as multiple file accesses to:C:Documents and SettingsAll UsersApplication DataMicrosoftCryptoC:Documents and SettingsAll UsersApplication DataMicrosoftCryptoRSAC:Documents and SettingsAll UsersApplication DataMicrosoftCryptoRSAMachineKeysAt the first 30 minute mark, I recorded 810 operationsrelated to this "validation" process, spread over about about 6 1/2 seconds. This doesn't seem to bother SimConnect activity as FSUIPC doesn't log any losss of connect data. However, at the 1-hour mark from the start of FSX, I logged 3330 operations related to "validation" over a 16 second period! This obviously had a detrimental affect on SimConnect since atthat time FSUIPC reported 9 "No SimConnect events...." episodes.I have noticed this "hourly" SimConnect problem on all my flightsthat extend beyond the "1-hour-since-FSX-start" time. So, when you are flying and see severe stuttering, check to seehow long it has been since you started FSX ( not flight time ).Chances are it will be multiples of 30 minutes, with the 1, 2, 3,etc hour marks being the worst.I ran this test with the default Beech Baron just sitting on theramp at KROC with one engine running, so there were no scenery re-load issues, etc. I used FileMon to record the accesses tothe "Crypto" path. Hi Paul,Have you let Pete know of this?Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

I hope Peter Dowson can confirm and provide a fix. Thanks. And (if true) may exceed the current top runner for useless software additions to FSX; gauge licenses. My FSX config file is currently 54kb of which 48kb are gauge licenses. Bob..

I've got log filessaved that I can send him if he needs them.I ran FSX for several hours last night and confirmedthat after the 1st "30 minute activation check", withthe 810 "events", FSX goes through this 'procedure"on the hour-mark, every hour, but these "procedures" resultin 3330 "events"....accesses to the CryptoRSA folde.Just a cursory look at the activity seems to indicate that FSX is doing much of the same stuff over, and over, andover, again and again and again!During shutdown if FSX there is also similar activity.Anyone with a slower hard drive will surely suffer withperformance issues...
