'Travel To' feature appears to be broken post v1.17.3.0

Featured Replies

Not sure if this problem started with the last update (v1.17.3.0) as I've been more into GA recently.  I was trying the 748 a few days back and noticed this but thought it was a problem with that bird.  What's happening is if you choose any point at top of decent to travel to you'll emerge at 1500ft or somewhere around there.  My question is has anyone else experienced this?  'Travel To' has never worked right but at least you could travel to a point and emerge at top of decent only to hurry up and re-activate your AP.  It worked well enough but now jumping to points on a long distance flight is hosed.

I hate when features get broke in the sim that's not widely used by the community because that usually equates to little chance of it getting resolved.  An example is seeing no movement or word from a Asobo for the tree draw distance around the aircraft that got broke a few patches back.  This has much support from community for resolution.  For those of us that can't get past a 2 hour flight without a CTD the 'Jump-To' style feature was pretty nice.  Adding to that who wants to sit at their computer for six hours.

Accel time in FS2020 is not what is was in past sims as that would be an option.  Thankfully there's many other things we can do in the sim until another feature is broke that destroys that.😧😕

I hope things get's better down the road because catching some of this is not immediate in some cases after an update is released.

Just an FYI (for anyone who cares 😶), this appears to have been addressed/fixed with the second download of 'v1.17.3.0'.  In 'Travel To' you have a square marker that signifies top of decent which was never correct before, going back to initial release.  Now if you click on that box you are maybe five minutes out from ATC's first call to descend.  Tried this on many flights after the second patch and it works perfect.  With the initial release of 'v1.17.3.0' that box you would spawn you at 2500ft (depending on destination field altitude) 30 miles out from the airport.   As always there was no mention in the patch notes of what was fixed in the second download of the same patch but it looks like this was fixed or should I say addressed as it works different than it initially did.  I also noticed all CTD's are now gone on my end no matter what I try to do.  The sim now seems more stable than it's ever been.
