June 30, 20214 yr Commercial Member Our installer will auto locate the MSFS 2020 sim for you. Our installer uses your UserCfg.opt file which extracts your sim location. You either have the Steam edition or the Store edition. Both have a default UserCfg.opt file that stores your sim location. Some users may install THE MAIN FILES to another drive. The sims main files will go to the alternate drive while the config files go in the C drive user section. So if you have issues with our installer, locate and open your UserCfg.opt file in notepad and update this to match your main sim location. We found this was wrong for a few users and was probably not updated. For most the UserCfg.opt is always correct. So it could be an administrator issue. So read the next section below. MUST BE ADMINISTRATOR Make sure you have administrator rights. If you do not log in as an administrator then you will always see this popup that it can't find the UserOpt file. So get the administrator to log in and run the installer then you can log back in as a regular user. Now skip the instructions below and test... HOW TO FIX UserCfg.opt FILE Find your file first.... =================================================================================================== Steam Edition: C:Users\???PC name???\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\UserCfg.opt Store Edition: C:\Users\???PC name???\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\UserCfg.opt =================================================================================================== Now open in notepad... Below is a sample UserCfg.opt file and the sims location is on the last line entry (258) of this file. In this case the sim is located at "C:\FS2020" This directory needs to point to the main sim folder where the community and Official folder are located inside. So these 2 folder are inside a folder called FS2020 in the sample above. Make sure to use back slashes "\"and not forward slashes "/" in your updated directory!!!
