July 31, 20214 yr I have X-Plane 11 with a Samsung 49 inch monitor with a Nvidia GTX 1080TI 12GB GPU; CPU i7 6700K 4.00 GHz; RAM 16GB. I also have Realsimgear GNS 530/430 which are actual size GPS hardware units with 6.7 and 6 inch monitors respectively. The GPS units operate as separate monitors and cause some decline in FPS. The question I have is would I realize improved FPS with a newer card like a 2080 or 3080 also with 12GB in lieu of the older 1080ti? I realize the global shortage is a big problem not to mention the exorbitant pricing.
