August 7, 20214 yr This may have been covered but I haven't located a thread that appeared to so....Is anyone else having issues with APPR not capturing the ILS on final? As well is anyone seeing APPR drive you into the ground short of the field? No GS captured in either instance however I do recall not inputting the arrival airports barometric pressure. That being said TBH I've never done this and had no issues with this prior to the recent update. I've not tried since the hotfix so perhaps that and FBW working on things have resolved it but thought I'd ask. My process has been: TOD authorize autopilot to the ground (airport elevation), set arrival procedure at TOD and ensure inserted into F-Plan correctly. If approach mode does not activate I have manually activated and all goes well. Radios autotune (perhaps that is what went wrong?), GS / LC capture on final and all is right with the world. If that is leaving out a required step please let me know.
August 7, 20214 yr Only thing I can think of is after setting arrival procedure at TOD, check the RAD/NAV page to ensure the ILS frequency has been set. Sometimes it is not. I have LittleNavMap open while flying, and if the freq is not set, I check what it is supposed to be in LNM and set it on the RAD/NAV page appropriately. Does not happen very often, but when it does and I've forgotten to check the RAD/NAV page, things get interesting. 😉 ...jim ASUS Prime Z790-E, Intel i9 13900K, 32Gb DDR5 Ram, Nvidia 3090 24Gb, Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500 GB and 1 TB, Samsung Odyssey G9 Ultrawide 49" G-SYNC Monitor.
August 8, 20214 yr Author Thanks, that must be what happened. I suppose I am so accustomed to the automatic setting of ILS that I've gotten out of the habit of looking it up myself so I don't double check at all. Bad for the PAX, bad for the plane, bad for me. Especially after a long haul in real-time.
