Should I use SPAD Next or LINDA?

Featured Replies

I have been flying my A2A Constellation in Prep3Dv4 using SPAD NEXT to control my Saitek Multi panel and all works well.

Now I have been introduced to LINDA.

With Linda I can control all of the buttons on my ProFlight yoke and quadrants and Goflight panels and also the Multi Panel.

My question is, do really need to keep Spad Next and will Linda and Spad conflict if I do?

SPADnext offers a free 14 day trial so I would give that a go as you make your decision.  All I can say is I have been using it for several years now and would not fly without it. I use it for all my Saitek and GoFlight panels as well as my Yoke, throttles, trimwheel and pedals.  I believe LINDA use is built into the app?

Just opened mine up and apparently they just performed a major update on the 18th.

Full array of Bravo, Saitek and GoFlight hardware for the cockpit. Varjo and HP VR headsets for mixed reality.

No experience with "LINDA".

I did use SpadNext for years for my Logitech Multi-panel and Switch panel, to avoid the useless drivers from Logitech, but found it overly complex for simple driver functionality, which was all I wanted.  But it wasn't that stable - something was always going sideways - I was always having to fiddle with "profiles", uninstall/reinstall, etc.  I got tired of all that.

Then I ran across "AxisandOhs" by Lorby-Si.  Although it includes a few other features that are sometimes useful, I'm primarily interested only in its drivers for my Logitech panels.  No more fiddling with "profiles" - it just works.

I don't use any of its "axis" assignment features - I find P3D's built-in settings work fine for those, as well as most controller button assignments.  But for the Logitech stuff, it does the job, and it can be set to open and close with P3D, no separate actions required.

Only caveat is that it does not always support Logitech panels with some "study level" 3rd party aircraft like PMDG, etc, that employ custom control coding.  In those cases, I sometimes use either FSUIPC's button assignments and/or my Thrustmaster MFD Cougar button panel - or even a mouse click on the VC panel (GASP!).
