August 25, 20214 yr Hello Painters, I am in the midst of creating an add-on and want to be sure that it is painter-friendly. I have never been a painter myself and am not sure what one might look for or want. What are recommendations to make a paint kit better? What are good kits, and what are bad kits? Thank you, ND ND Simulations
August 25, 20214 yr Some suggestions to get this topic stared ... 1. Paint kits need to be layered, so that each layer can be turned on or off in the paint program. 2. For each texture file one layer needs to contain some default textures which are a background for what painters will want to customize. 3. For each texture file one layer needs to contain a UV wireframe outline for each texture which painters will need to customize. 4. For each texture file one layer needs to include labels to identify the various parts of the model contained in that texture. 5. If PBR reflection or metallic textures are required for the model, they should be included in the paint kit. 6. For aircraft, there should be one paint kit file which contains layers for the complete side profile of the fuselage and some alignment markers to assist aligning each texture file for each part of the fuselage. September 11, 20214 yr They're also payware, and not everyone has access to them. There are some great freeware models out there as well that could use paintkits.
