  1. UPDATE - yes it was indeed the long file pathway that was the problem. However, the installation worked properly when installed to the desktop then copied into the Community folder. The aircraft is outstanding, flies beautifully, and is once again one of my favourite GA aircraft. All the older liveries worked perfectly when converted to ktx2 format, and the file structure altered to suit the MSFS2024 model.
  2. Thanks guys - I have now gone right through installation and have the same outcome. Hopefully SWS will quickly solve the problems (many files did not install) and update the installer for us. I'm pretty annoyed, as I had purchased the original aircraft from JustFlight as well as SWS (my mistake of course!), and when I experienced this problem with one 2024 installer I went to the other and bought the update again as well. Its an awesome aircraft, but not happy about double the price it could have been. I'm sure that in the end, the fun will be worth it!
  3. I'm wondering if anyone else is having trouble installing their new upgraded Kodiak 100 Wheels for MSFS2024? And if so, is there a workaround? I am getting "Error opening file for writing" message for the file AlternatorShrouded_LOD0.gltf, and many others - resulting in having to abort the installation. The installer downloaded normally and was extracted in the normal way, and commences the installation process as expected, but hangs with this message about one quarter of the way through. TIA for any help!
  4. You may need to go to Content Manager and enable them.
  5. Hi Ray I have used ModelConverter frequently (though mainly for converting aircraft models to use in Blender) and would love for you to provide a brief tutorial outlining the steps required to achieve this outcome for my own copy of YBCS, if you are able to do that. I am a dual UK/Australian and fly the Aussie airspaces regularly - this adaptation would make for much greater depth of realism for the airport. If you are able to help without breaching T&C I would be very grateful! TIA, Brian
  6. Yes its an awesome small turbo prop - there are times when the jetstream of approx 100-120kts across southern Australia gives even greater ground speed when heading east! Not so much fun when heading west, of course!!
  7. Have you checked to see if they are installed in MSFS2024 but are listed separately (not with your PMDG liveries)? I have seen some liveries online that are incorrectly located directly into the Community folder rather than in with the PMDG liveries. Therefore they cannot be seen listed with the PMDG liveries for a particular airframe type. I had the opposite problem for a while - the liveries showed up and worked in MSFS2024 after I manually installed them but did not show up in OC3. The problem was in the structure of the file name and the contents of the config files - they have to be consistent and matching, or the livery is not recognised by OC3. If the files you are installing are correctly named and formatted, and set up correctly to install in the same folder as the PMDG liveries, OC3 should recognise them and they should work when they have been installed.
  8. Thanks Jonathan - that was the solution! It didn't like Edge, but worked just fine with Chrome!
  9. I have logged in to my regular account at PMDG, and tried to purchase the 737 for MSFS2024 - without success. I have repeatedly clicked to purchase now, but my cart stubbornly remains empty. Has anyone else had this problem? Anyone know of a solution? Are their servers overloaded, perhaps? Cheers, Brian
  10. Here on east coast Australia, I am still getting stuck at '0% - Waiting for Authentication ...' (MSFS2024) X-Box and Microsoft Store do not have any problems logging me in.
  11. Totally agree - however, the wood and glass boxes would have been harder to keep clean ... EXCEPT THAT the new ones are not cleaned regularly anyway; and delinquent parents have allowed a generation (or two now?) to grow up without sufficient (or any?) respect for others, for others' property, let alone for public property. Finally, not many people need to use public phones any more now, so there are probably too few public funds are being spent on maintaining the ones that remain.
  12. 2020 liveries can be updated to work in 2024, but it requires a bit of work, re-writing cfg files, adding a folder to the root directory of the livery, and converting the texture files to ktx2 format. I have done several and they are all working perfectly in 2024 now.
  13. Your texture.cfg needs to point to the correct fallback locations in order to find the files that are not present in your texture folder. If the file is not present, the sim will show missing textures in pink, or will default to the standard white livery. One other thing you may need to do is to refresh your layout.json file. Having said the above, it seems that a recent update has converted the TBM850 to be native 2024 now (I have not flown it recently but did this morning), which means a new file structure and all texture files to be converted to ktx2. I will convert at least one of my liveries to native 2024 and then I am happy to look at yours for you if you want to send me a DM. Cheers, Brian
  14. I'm guessing your textures are probably still in dds format. They will work in compatibility mode in FS2024 as long as you have the correct settings in your texture.cfg file. Have a look at some examples from flightsim.to and if you have any trouble getting yours to work, get back to me by DM and I will help you out.
  15. I did not have the P3D version of the C210, but I do have the new one and have created liveries for the MSFS2024 version. If you'd like me to see if I can get it to work properly on the new model, let me know and I'll have a look at it for you. Of course the textures will all have to be converted to ktx2 format, even if they do match the new ones.
  16. It is possible to take the 2020 liveries and convert them to work in the 2024 sim (I have done several already), though it has to be done manually and the texture files have to be converted to KTX2 format. It is fiddly and time-consuming - not a job for the faint-hearted! I'm not sure if they will continue to use the OC3 to work with zip folders (as they currently do for 2020 liveries), or if they plan at some time to revert to the ptp format used in the past. The real problem at present is that OC3 does not yet import any 2024 non-PMDG liveries in any format, nor can non-PMDG liveries be exported from 2024. So even if we go to the trouble of converting the file structure and file formats to work in 2024, they cannot be shared and then installed by the average user. I hope they will fix that sooner rather than later!!
  17. Be sure you have checked every engine variant for your liveries ... the livery will only appear where you have selected its engine type.
  18. Yes they have and it looks way better than three screens with the borders breaking the image!
  19. Their rationale was apparently that an automated registration number based on where the aircraft is departing from might add authenticity - if departure is in the US, the number is a US-formatted number, and if departure is from Australia, it is an Australian formatted number, etc. I wouldn't mind if it was a feature that could be switched on or off, but that is not the case. And I wouldn't mind if that number could be formatted so that it had a contrasting stroke around each letter/number to ensure it was more visible regardless of the painted background colour or design. And it would be OK too if it could be resized to suit the size of the airframe. But no one at Microsoft/Asobo thought of any of those factors - those registration numbers look completely inauthentic. And this is just one small issue that needs urgent attention.
  20. I have a friend who wants to have a repaint of one of the new MSFS 2024 models, but there is no indication in the new MSFS folder structure as to where the model files can be found. Anyone able to help please? TIA.
  21. After installing the new FlyByWire Installer for the A380X download, I still had constantly recurring error messages relating to a timeout. I assumed this was because of server overload. On a whim I decided to switch from my 100mbps fibre connection to a slower wifi router I use mainly when travelling, and it connected, downloaded and installed the A380X on the first attempt. I'm not sure if this was pure chance or not, but perhaps some technically informed member might comment? In any case if you are constantly receiving an error message and can access a different speed router, it might be worth a try?
  22. Did you mean the TBM 850? If so, I don't know if it has been implemented - some other aircraft certainly have that feature, but not sure this one does. Their focus was on other aspects of systems, flying and navigating.
  23. Great shots, and I too enjoy using both those airport from time to time. However, for greater realism, why not use an aircraft with an Australian tail number?!!
  24. At his altitude, he will be cutting treetops before the chute even gets deployed, let alone opened!!
  25. As most users will know, the MyTraffic B777 aircraft bear so little resemblance to the real aircraft that they are a complete joke - the worst of all the models in my opinion. This first photo shows one such aircraft with very poor modelling and a completely incorrect APU exhaust. https://www.dropbox.com/s/ugdl20p3ighazo8/Old_B777.jpg?dl=0 As the B777 is one of the most common long-haul aircraft at international airports, I wanted to find a way to replace the original aircraft with the Fruit Stand aircraft for the most frequently-seen airlines in my part of the world. This well-modeled version of the Japan airlines B777-200LR is an example. I have done this for about 30 airlines for both the -200 and -300 series. https://www.dropbox.com/s/mkyf89hufkjsyv8/New_B777.jpg?dl=0 It is a tricky and time-consuming process, but if anyone wants to know how it is done, just let me know and I will post a brief tutorial.
