When I started using littlenavmap I weas on airac 2102

 

I have since upgraded to 2108

 

The appdata\roaming\abarthel folder text file shows 2108

 

however the menu bar on littlenavmap under scenery it shows 2.Navigraph -  Airac cycle 2102

 

that can't be right as I think it should show 2108

 

I even installed it iinto another folder ran it and still shows 2102

 

Any thoughts

You have to close LNM before updating. The FMS Data Manager silently skips updates if LNM keeps the files locked.

Another reason might be a wrong mapping in the FMS Data Manager and the files are installed into the wrong place. See here https://albar965.github.io/littlenavmap_navigraph.html

The safest way to update is the manual update. Download the Zip from Navigraph (https://navigraph.com/account/downloads/navdata) and extract it so that the file little_navmap_navigraph.sqlite replaces the old one in C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\ABarthel\little_navmap_db.
