TBM throttle assignments (just like the real thing)

Featured Replies

I have read and and watched video's on this subject, and there is a lot of confusion on how to set up the TBM throttle. After much experimenting, I have found a setup which behaves almost exactly like the real TBM (  which I'll explain later ). You only need one throttle ( not two as in the video's ) and three button assignments ( not switches ). I have this setup on my Bravo, but these assignments should work on any throttle.

Assignments as follows:

Throttle.     Set this up as normal to throttle axis ( no reverse ).

Reverse thrust .      Set this to "decrease throttle" - behind the detent ( button 24 on the bravo )

Toggle from right to left " over the gate " and back.     Assign this to "Toggle propeller reverse thrust" ( 29 on bravo). I have this assigned to the red " go around" button. This is the HOLY GRAIL !

Assign a button to " increase throttle" I use the rev button on the bravo autopilot. (button 24)

Method: To start, push the starter button - the starter on the Alpha works fine - and hold for 2 seconds. When ITT is 13% or above push the increase throttle button ( REV)

This will move the throttle forward to the low idle position. Move throttle forward to high idle. Move the throttle back to the detent when ready, and press the toggle propeller reverse thrust (red button on bravo).  This will move the throttle to the left ( unfeathered ) side.

Fly aircraft as normal and move the throttle behind the detent for reverse thrust on landing if required.

Press the red button again to bring the throttle to the right ( feathered ) side when desired.

To shut down, move the throttle back behind the detent.

The only thing that is difficult is moving the throttle back to the low idle position, it tends to go into the shut down position. Maybe a null zone may cure this. I haven't tried .

I hope this helps everyone to set up the throttle just as the real TBM.

BTW, use the search for input function when assigning the various levers and buttons. It makes it a lot easier.

Is it possible to make a Bravo switch profile for the TBM in MSFS?

I just make a profile for the TBM.

And all my other aircraft as well. Just clone another profile and adjust the assignments. Anyone will do, just delete the mixture and propeller axis.

I use the to/go button to because it's very convenient and acts like the gate lever (?) on the real TBM. And I don't use the REV button on the bravo autopilot .
