October 23, 20214 yr Hi Guys, When flying in a home cockpit and using all instruments/switches etc what is the best view zoom level etc... I think I would like to keep a piece of engine cowling visible as in the real world..Buit nothing else Dave
October 24, 20214 yr I have only one screen and I choose a view that lets me view past the top of the cowling so I have that as a reference but nothing else from the cockpit in sight. It’s ok but I notice that the lack of lateral view is a problem (and it’s not solved with TrackIR either). I didn’t expect it but the small view of the ground that you get left and right of the cowling, along with the perspective view left and right (out of the corners of your eyes) is key for assessing aircraft pitch and distance from the ground when landing. So all in all I am looking for a better solution here too. Problem is I can’t afford to dedicate a whole room to the sim; it has to be desktop compatible, so getting two more screens is not an option (and doesn’t work with MSFS yet, anyway). I honestly considered getting two small screens left bottom and right bottom to the main screen that just show what’s left and right of the cowling through the windscreen because it seems to be so critical for assessing height and pitch for me.
