Realty XP/ RxpGNS plugin problem G430/530

Featured Replies

Hi,

With Reality XP GNS 530 plugin (RxpGNS) enabled,

VOR/LOC "CDI" (Course Deviation Indicator") and ("Glideslope"indicator) are unresponsive(frozen) when flying RNAV approach.

With the same plugin disabled, it responds correctly.

When flying "ILS" approach, same "CDI" works fine with RxpGNS enabled.

This is the only issue. Everything else works great.

Have tried several reinstalls.Fresh reinstall of XPlane too.

XPlane 11

Realsimgear GNS 430 and GNS530

Help please!

Thank you

Just discovered that there is not any flight plan in the Xplane G530.

There is in th RXP.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi,

I'm sorry for the delay. I'm not sure to fully understand the nature of the problem.

Do you mean that with the GPS set in GPS mode (not VLOC) and when it is also configured as the "Master Device" (via RXP plugin menu and/or the GNS Settings Panel), the instrument on your panel displaying a VCDI and a LCDI is not showing a deviation matching the one displayed on the GNS screen (like the LCDI at the bottom of the MAP or NAV page)?

What aircraft are you using?

Did you also enabled in the GNS Settings Panel "Link HSI" and/or "Link VOR" ?

Hi , Thanks for response.

Sorry, it’s the C172 “non-G1000”.

The aircraft positions on Reality XP/simgear and Xplane are different by a few miles.

in RXP, you can be on a desired track, but xplane position is different. So, CDI doesn’t

indicate on course….

Other airplanes are good.

Thank you.

Thank you for the additional information.

If I understand correctly, when using the RXP GNS with the stock XP11 C172 non-G1000 panel, the GPS position differs between the RXP GNS and XP11.

Is this a difference in XP11 map window? Is this a difference with an XP11 airport? Is this with one airport in particular or all airports world wide? If this is only with one airport, which one it is and is it a 3rd party airport or the stock one?

Hi, thank you,

I’ll try different airports. Believe stock XPlane airport.
the position  difference is seen in the GPS map views in both XPlane and RXP units.

will join a final approach course on one and the other map shows not on the course.

still trying to narrow it down.

C172

RXP 430 works ok as  by itself.

Xplane 530 works ok by itself.

RXP 530 and XPlane don’t seem to talk.

with RXP 530, position on map page either freezes, or is off. Changes in heading do respond correctly.

Have reinstalled XPlane. Tried different airports…

other XPlane airplanes have been ok with RXP 530.

thank you

Ok so you were not talking about the X-Plane map window, but the stock X-Plane GPS map page instead isn't it?

In this case this is normal: the RXP GPS is overriding the X-Plane GPS system (this is how this works with the SDK). When overriding the X-Plane GPS system, it is expected the stock GPS doesn't react nor work anymore because the RXP GPS supplant it.

Hi,

C172/RXP G530

I’m not getting any indication on the XPlane CDI when flying an instrument approach for example. RNAV or ILS….This only happens on C172 /530W.

Positions on map pages of RXP and XPlane differ.

I have 430W from RealSimgear I beleive works correctly in C172 by itself.

RXP 530W works correctly in other Xplane airplanes.

thanks for your responses !

is there a way to go back to default in the settings? Otherwise, Out of ideas here 🤔

I have tried reinstalling everything including XPlane too.

Let's itemize the information:

1) Positions on map pages of RXP and XPlane differ.

I mentioned earlier this is expected, if you're referring to the X-Plane stock GPS. However this is not normal if you're referring to the X-Plane "map" window (the one displaying when you press the M key on your keyboard).

Which "XPlane map page" are you referring to?

2) is there a way to go back to default in the settings?

All the RXP GNS settings are saved in a file located in the aircraft folder: RealityXP.GNS.ini

Just rename the file to something else (for backup, just in case you need to peep inside later), load the aircraft, then open a GNS from the RXP Plugin menu. This will recreate a new settings file from scratch.

3) I’m not getting any indication on the XPlane CDI when flying an instrument approach for example

You have to configure the GNS to interface with the panel instruments. Please make sure to open the GNS Setting Panels and use "Link HSI" and "Link VOR" to get started. Also make sure the GNS is configured as "Master Device" and cross-check the GPS CDI mode matches the C172 NAV/GPS switch selector (both should be in GPS mode).

Hi,

good info.

“X-Plane Map page” is the XPlane GNS 530 map page on the aircraft instrument panel.

I’m interested in trying out your suggestions.

Thank you!

Should be interesting.

Funny, only problem is with C172. Every other RXP GNS and XPlane airplane work fine.

Will  post results.
