MSFS 2020 "Press any button to start" steam edition issue

Featured Replies

Problem:

Started MSFS2020 today and had the dreaded "Press any button to start" and could not load the sim.

Searched google with plenty of content re the issue, but none helped.

Solution:

After some thought I considered what had changed since yesterday when it was all working "Light Bulb Moment". Last night was daylight savings here so the clocks went back 1 hour. Returned back to my Windows PC and sure enough the clock was incorrect, though I had set it to auto configure. A sync with time and MSFS 2020 is back to working again :).

Hopefully this might save some of you time if you have the same problem.
