GTN can't import flight plans

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've been trying to import my flight plan into my gtn as the manual says but cannot see it in my catalogue, I'm using simbrief.

I've had a look at the logs and that didn't tell me anything, also I've currently got my FLPin "C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Trainers\Databases\FPLN is this correct?

If this is not the correct folder, the rxpGtnSim.dll.log file would tell you which one you must use. If the log file doesn't tell, this means this is the correct one! From there, you might want to first try as recommended to make sure everything is setup and working as expected:

Otherwise the product installs a sample flight plan file which is known to work and that you can try out (see p9 of the User's Manual):

C:\ProgramData\Reality XP\Common\GtnTrainer\flightplan.zip

Just unzip this file and copy the extracted flight plan file in the FPLN folder.

Hi,

Yes I've put the sample flight in there and still nothing?

Just to make sure:

1) there is no indication of any FPLN path reported in the rxpGtnSim.dll.log file?

2) are you going 2 menus level deeps to get to the catalogue menu?

RXP GTN User's Manual p9:

On the GTN device, while viewing the Flight Plan page, touch the Menu key and then the Catalog key to display the Flight Plan Catalog. An Import key will be present in the Catalog menu bar when flight plans are present on the virtual datacard folder. Touch the Catalog Menu key, then the Import key to open a pop-up with a list of the file names of the flight plans on the datacard, then select the desired flight plan to import.

Hi,

So I've tried different things but my GTN is only seeing the default flight and strangely only one KSLE?

Do you mean it is properly about to import the KSLE/KSLE sample flight plan in the installed RXP GTN sample pack?

If so, this means the functionality is working properly and you might cross check whether your flight planning tool is properly exporting the flight plan with the expected flight plan format?!

Hi,

Yes I'm using simbrief so the files are in GFP, so I don't understand why I don't see them?
