I have tried in vain to fly this thing.  I get airborne, select AP, HSI, if there are waypoints, you can click on waypoint then sequence, but near the approach airport the plan tries to bank wildly.   I admit, this is trial and error, as I really have no idea how to set the thing.  Any ideas on how to fly the GPS route selected in FS?

This sounds very much like the continuous Assists behaviour a lot of us have been struggling with since SU7. The sim reverts to auto approach unadvertently and attempts to land automatically.

Check everything is the way you want in the Assists menu.
