GTN750 Unclickable in VR - Bell 412 MOD and Bell 407 Mod

Featured Replies

Everything works fine with the Popup window VR and non-VR, but I can't click the mouse inside the MOD panels (Bell 412 MOD and Bell 407 MOD) only the knobs work but not the touchscreen. Please help!

Hi,

Do you mean the touchscreen doesn't work in VR, or in 3D?

With the mouse, or with the VR controller?

I finally could click (with the mouse, I'm not using controllers) inside the mod panel (touchscreen) in VR, but I have to look at the Garmin through the center of the VR (The sweet spot), then the mouse cursor appears closer with a little blue dot and voila! Is like I have an invisible window in front of me and only through that invisible window I can click inside the Garmin mod display. Weird! Do you have any idea what could be obstructing or conflicting with the mouse cursor? This all happens while on VR and there is no problem whatsoever with the Garmin popup window, I can click anyway. Thank you very much for your prompt response and for all your help.

It didn't occur to me you'd have to look at the screen in order to make it interactive with the mouse.

I don't know what could be happening here except that in order to intercept the mouse in the VC, the plugin is using a well known technique consisting in using an invisible window covering the entire screen, so that the plugin could get notifications from X-Plane when you click the mouse.

When in VR though, there is no such "covering the entire screen" window and I suspect the "blue" dot you see is the visible artifact of the VR mode trying to deal with invisible windows. Unfortunately there is not much we can do for now about this because there is no provision to instantiate dynamic and interactive 3D surfaces with the XP11 SDK. However it is not a problem with a VR controller because it is properly handled in this case (it should).I'll have to revisit this when the SDK changes.

I hadn't noticed before but that invisible window has been obstructing my VR sight not only with the Garmin but with everything else. I don't know if maybe it has something to do with any plugin like Xchecklist or any Lua script somewhat. I will try the controllers while I'm still researching for other options to see if I can handle the Garmin. Thank you very much for all your help!
