Trainer custom location

Featured Replies

Greetings,

I have the Garmin trainer installed at:

E:\Apps\Garmin\Trainers\GTI\Production\GTI__GTN__6_72\app-6.72.9\bin

In my environment variables I have the following set:

GTNAPPDATA    E:\Apps\Garmin\Trainers\GTI\Production\GTI__GTN__6_72\app-6.72.9\data

GTNSIMPATH     E:\Apps\Garmin\Trainers\GTI\Production\GTI__GTN__6_72\app-6.72.9\bin

The registry has the following:

BinPath      E:\Apps\Garmin\Trainers

DataPath   E:\Apps\Garmin\Trainers

GTiExePath       E:\Apps\Garmin\Launcher\GTI\GTI.exe

The trainer works fine when I run it outside the sim, from within the sim, I just get a blank screen.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi,

The RXP GTN is compatible with the GTN Trainer 6.62.4 which gets installed side-by-side with the Garmin trainer launcher. You shouldn't need to manually override the paths but in case you do want to:

1) The full path for the trainer 6.62.4 default installation folder is:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\Trainers\Packages\GTN\bin

The trainer is using the registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Garmin\Trainers\BinPath
with the default value: C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\Trainers\

2) The full path for the latest Garmin trainer database (cycle 2104) default installation folder is:
C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Trainers\Databases

The trainer is using the registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Garmin\Trainers\DataPath
with default value: C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Trainers\
