Several people in this thread have accurately pointed out an omission that I, the OP, failed to include in my analogy comparing Asobo to the Hubble team: Bankrolling overlords often pressure the working technicians to hurry their efforts and to finalize products prematurely for economic reasons. That's probably the most important commonality of all.
