Yesterday I installed the new P3Dv5.3 scenery.  I deleted P3D v5 and installed the new one as a fresh scenery.  I had moved my old scenery and aircraft files to a temporary folder and then copied them into the new P3D installation.

I started it up and everything seemed fine.  It was going through the adding sceneries to the library thing and when I got done everything was OK except Orbx Northern California didn't show up.  All the Orbx Northern California cities were there, but not the main Northern California scenery.   Orbx showed it as loaded but it wasn't there.  So I unloaded it through the Orbx installer and reinstalled it.  Still no joy.  The scenery wouldn't show up.  Again, I unloaded it and then turned my computer off and after a few minutes back on again.  Reinstalled Northern California from the Orbx installer but it still wouldn't show up.

Last night I unloaded it again.  Then I went to the scenery files and deleted the four NCA files from the Orbx folder, turned the computer off, and went to bed confident that in the morning I would install it and everything would be OK.  Only it was not.  I checked the Orbx folder and the four NCA sceneries were there but Northern California wouldn't show up in the simulator.

Then on a hunch I checked the scenery library.  No FTX California scenery.  I added the four sceneries to the scenery library by hand and guess what?  I now have Northern California on my system.

I have no idea why the Orbx installer doesn't put Northern California into the scenery library during the installation process.  It did it for all of my past simulators from FSX on.  But not on P3Dv5.3.  I don't know if this is unique to me but all the other Orbx sceneries I installed show up in the scenery library, only Northern California is missing.

I guess I should tell Orbx about this but since I have been banned for life from their forums let them come here and find out...or maybe they already do know.  But if they do why haven't they fixed it?

Or maybe it's just me.  Many times in my life it's just been me.

The tires are worn.  The shocks are shot.  The steering is wobbly.  But the engine still runs fine.

Its never just you, Noel.  Even when it appears to be 'just you', theres always somebody somewhere somewhen else.  Nothing new under the sun.
