April 24, 200719 yr After flying a lot with the (great) FSX default Cessna 172 I wanted to give the version with the G1000 a try. Now I have a Track IR 4 Pro and I never ever use a popup screen to get things done (only, which I regret a lot, the GPS, which I use to search for ILS-frequencies). I like and want to do everything from within the VC! (Is it possible to cram the GPS into the VC somewhere...? Probably not...)Now the only problem I had with the 172 was that the handbrake couldn't be handled with the mouse. So I had to use the keyboard for that one. But to my surprise the G1000 version of the 172 has more (identical) buttons/levers/knobs that don't work! Like the flap, bat and alt.Is everyone having these same none-working buttons or is there something wrong with my install? It's very strange that the EXACT same buttons don't work in another version of the plane...

Why whould you want the G500 to display? Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
April 24, 200719 yr I was still talking about the GPS-popup in the normal 172. ;) Could have made that more clear, yes... I know everything about the G1000 (well, almost): I think I was one of the first people who posted stuff about how to use it last year. ;) (In fact, YOU pointed out to me that - XML syntax changes aside - the FSX G500 GPS and the FS9 G500 GPS are line for line identical code! Which was a real eye-opener for me... ;) )Anyway, anyone knows if it is possible to get flaps and bat and alt working in the VC? (Apart from assigning keyboard commands to them, of course!)
