I have been using CH products for many years with few problems.  About three years ago, I had to replace my CH Rudder Pedals because the old set (in service for about 10 years) decided to stop working properly.  I think one of the control modules on the circuit board malfunctioned.  I bought a new set which have functioned properly until recently. I started to notice that I had lost directional control on landing and couldn't hold direction during the takeoff roll.  Viewing the aircraft from the rear and moving the rudder pedals, I see that I get full left rudder, the rudder at rest is slightly left and full right rudder only produces a slight right rudder.  I control all my addons with FSUIPC and have not changed the calibration for a couple of years.  I suspect the CH Rudder Pedals are malfunctioning.  Sometimes I can abruptly release the pedals which seems to rectify the problem but it returns almost immediately.

I can replace my CH Rubber Pedals with another set but I'm wondering if there is something better available.  Thoughts?

First suggestion is to check the calibration in Windows. You can also use software to test the pedals, like VKB Joytester.

The CH pedals are not the latest and greatest and use potmeters which wear out in time.

Personally I recommend the MFG Crosswind v3 or the Thrustmaster TPR pedals. The first is only about ~$100 more expensive then the CH pedals but they qualitywise a tremendous upgrade. They are very accurate and the Hall sensors will probably last a lifetime. The latter are also great but more expensive.

Thanks for the reply.  I'm sure that my problem is that the yaw pot is failing.  When I try to re-calibrate the pedals in FSUIPC, left rudder is OK, but right rudder gives values all over the place.  CH Products gave me a link to a company that has replacement parts so I've ordered a couple of pots @ $4.95 each.  I'll try to repair my pedals but if that doesn't work, it's time for new ones.  I check out the Thrustmaster TPR pedals when the time comes.
