  1. Flown same route several times w/o incident in the 737. In fact, I've only had two WASM crashes, both with the 777.
  2. I think the cost of a Navigraph subscription is well worth the money. Data is up to date, SimBrief is a breeze to use and the PMDG products that I have, thrive on the data.
  3. "and them Fokkers were flying Messerschmitts!"

Too many years ago while stationed at 29 Palms, I went to the nightly on base movie. Tickets cost 10 cents. The feature was "Hannibal" with Victor Mature (I called him "manure!"). The movie was SOOOO bad, I walked out and thought about asking for a refund. Seeing these clips reminds me of his acting skills.
  5. This theme appears to be a waist of time.
  6. My WASM crash in MSFS2024 flying the PMDG 737-800 was a one off as I've made several flights since then without any more problems. Have you installed any thing new? Check your library to ensure that you don't have conflicting addons. Other than that, the consensus I received is that WASM crashes are random unless you can track a conflict. So try the flight again. Sorry I can't offer a solution.
  7. PMDG has spend considerable time developing extremely detailed models for Boeing which I think are used in actual training for prospective actual users. I guess this attention to detail is modeled in their sim products. Jump in and fly only scratches the surface of the model.
  8. Yes, I started it.
  9. Yep, MSFS2024. Orange screens, lost control and started a rapid descent. I quit the sim at that point. I submitted a ticket to PMDG and will try again tomorrow.
  10. Just had my first WASM crash while flying the PMDG737-800. 25 previous flight without incident. Any ideas about what to check? How common are these errors?
  11. Contrail installs directly. The problem was that the maker, MK Studios didn't show up in the library and I had disabled an earlier version. I recent purchase was in the library but I couldn't identify it. Problem is now resolved. In fact, I'd now put the problem uder the category of "Operator Error!"
  12. Got a note from Contrail which solved the problem. I didn't recognize it because the entry doesn't display MK Studios while other entries do display their makers. In addition, the version number 1.0.2 reverted to 0.0.0 when I enabled the entry. I restarted MSFS2024 and it now shows version 1.0.2 at 2.71 GB. Seems to me that the maker's names should appear which might make it easier to identify the entries. My bone headed mistake.
  13. I'm not sure if this is where I should ask this question but here goes. I just bought the MK Studio KSEA via the Contrail App and installed it in MSFS2024 but the airport isn't showing up in the library. I've disabled all other KSEA scenery but no joy. I've asked both Contrail and MK Studios about this problem but haven't heard anything from either of them as of yet. Any ideas will be appreciated. Thanks.
  14. Apparently lots of time on the owners hands!
  15. Thanks for the insight.
  16. I think most of the position reports over large ocean areas use HF frequencies. Some maybe be automated but HF should always work. I've read a number of accounts of ferry pilots carrying specialize HF equipment that was required for position reports. The PMDG DC-3 flight in 2019 had a special waver from the FAA so they used VHF to contact high flyers who would relay their information via HF to the controlling stations.
  17. Exactly my opinion. Those who spend time knocking PMDG should look for something else to do. My every flight with the 737-800 ha been as realistic as one can expect.
  18. Lots of hours in this bird and lots of fun to fly.
  19. I start and load the flight plan into Active Sky FS, then start MSFS2024. Seems to work properly for me.
  20. There's an old saying amongst those of us who remember the main frame days, "Software sells hardware!" Apparently this is still true. I spent about $2200 for a Dell XPS 8950 in 2023 that still handles everything MSFS2024 throws at it. However, I am considering swapping my RTX 3060 Ti for a something stronger.
  21. Excellent inscription of the part of Japan that's my favorite.
  22. Me thinks this is a waste of money!
  23. This isn't nonsense. My daughter has been teaching 5th grade for over 20 years and she relates stories that closely match those in the article. The problem started with GWB's "No Child Left Behind!" There are no penalties for failing to do work at any level. Those who don't even show up are promoted. Those who don't do the work are promoted. Those who create problems and disrupt the classroom are promoted. If the average school attendee understood that if they didn't do the work, come to school or created problems would flunk, I think that might get their attention. If the parents of these miscreants understood that their 12 year old wouldn't advance out of the 4th grade for the second time, maybe things would change. My wife taught 6th grade in the 1960s. She remembers one of her students worrying about the draft because he was 16th. Nothing gets a student's attention more than the knowledge that he was failing and would not advance.
  24. You might consider FSUIPC. I'm using my 2020 setting in 2024 thru that system. I had to set the 2024 keyboard to 2020 and I created a null definition for my controllers. I've been using FSUIPC since the early days and find it very easy to work with.
