I have just watched a tutorial video as to how to use 'Flight Control Replay' in MSFS 2020. The presenter shows a clip of the drone camera in a static position at the side of the runway, which allows you to view the plane landing from that chosen position. What the presenter does not do, is tell you how to make the drone static. I have looked at the various keyboard and Xbox controller options, and cannot see one that makes the drone static.

I am sure there is a simple solution - so would appreciate any help from the community.

I'm sure you can use the drone cam with follow me turned off. That way its static. Its how I do it anyway.
