Airport Rotating Beacon Missing Textures

Featured Replies

Hi,

Not a big deal just wondering if anybody else has this issue.  Notice yesterday the textures are missing from the rotating airport beacons, both airports I tested are default airports.  The white/green light works ok and rotates at night, but there are no textures on the beacon model object. Not sure which version the textures went missing. I running 5.3HF2.

When I upgraded from HF1 + Lightfix, I did a full uninstall and reinstall - Client, Content and Scenery and also the ORBX verify and sync.  I mentioned this because, if somebody just updated the client only, the airport beacon missing texture issue might not show up.

Specs: black box thingy with spinning fans, lights and a bunch of wires that go to screens with pretty colours and a keyboard with many keys. The black box thingy also has a push button activated coffee cup holder.

Hi,

Follow-up post.  I posted this on the Prepar3d forums and the texture is not missing, there is just no texture. Furthermore, I open up the airport_objects.bgl file located in the Scenery/global/scenery folder in ModelconverterX and there is no texture for the beacon model.  I opened the airport_objects.bgl from a 5.2 backup I had, and the textures are there.  LM got rid of the textures for the beacon model in version 5.3HF2. This in mentioned in the release notes in the scenery section that they removed some unused textures.  In this case not unused but decided the detail texture was not needed, and decided to go with no textures for the beacon object.
