Registry keys for P3D v4

Featured Replies

Here are the Registry keys required when installing software in P3D v5 originally designed for v4.

Regedit. Locate HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Lockheed Martin

With Lockheed Martin selected right-click and create a new key and name it Prepar3D v4

With that entry highlighted, over on the right window right-click and select New - String Value. Name it Licence. In the Value data field enter Academic.

Create a second String Value. Name it SetupPath. In the Value data field enter the path to your v5 root folder.

Now head over to:-

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Lockheed Martin

With Lockheed Martin highlighted create a new key and name it Prepar3D v4

With that entry highlighted right click over on the right and select New - String Value. Name it AppPath then enter same installation path as under SetupPath above.

Right click again on the right and choose New DWORD 32bit.  Name it Installed.  Then double click on that new entry. Change value data from 0 to 1.

Then install the software.
