Saitek switch panel with linda and spad

Featured Replies

Good evening,

I am using the Saitek switch panel with both LINDA and SPAD. I am using the LED lights with SPAD so that I can use them as the parking brake light and master caution and warning light (not the gear position indicator lights, as I have a dedicated gear panel for this). I am also using the switches with LINDA with the PMDG 777. Problem is, each time I start LINDA the LEDs on the Saitek Switch Panel go to green and start showing the gear position lights, not what I have set in SPAD for them to do.

My question is, how do I disable the LEDs in LINDA so I can use them in SPAD whilst still using the buttons in LINDA?

Thank you.

Matt King.

Hi Matt

Do you have Saitek Panels ticked on Setup LINDA page? If so untick it to stop the GUI controlled the gear lights. Then you need to look in lib-Saitek.LUA file (in /LINDA/libs) for the gear control code. You will need to comment out the code. I am away from my PC so I can’t give you a more detailed direction.

Hi, couldn’t find anything in the lib-saitek.lua file for gear control. Also, won’t unticking saitek panels on the setup Linda page stop me using the buttons too?

thanks,

matt

Which Saitek Panels are you using? With the checkbox unticked the Switch Panel switches act as normal joystick buttons. They should should up on the Joystick Page. Functions can be assigned to these. However, because they are either on or off you need to assign an _on function to the OnPress and an _off to the OnRelease. Please read the release notes for Saitek panel information.

I will have a look tomorrow.

Got it, thank you. In that case, It is just deleting the line in line-saitek.lua that I can’t find.
thank you.

Oh, and I am just using the saitek switch panel.

Hi @mattking247 I have checked the code this morning. The Switch Panel gear indication is driven by the GUI code regardless of the Saitek Panels checkbox status. The reason is that the switch panel is assumed to be for landing gear only.

Before I change this I need to know what Flt Sim and LINDA version you are using.

Thanks for the reply. I am using P3d v5.3 with fsuipc 6 and LINDA 3.3.4.

@mattking247. Please try this new build with the GUI control of the Switch Panel Gear Lights removed. Untick the Saitek Panels checkbox to disable all GUI Saitek Panel interaction. Let me know how you get on.
