May 18, 200719 yr Help! New York City is under water! In order to load in the new SP1 patch I completely uninstalled FSX and reinstalled FSX. I then installed the SP1 patch. I then re-installed Megascenery New York (the old version, not the FSX ver). When I go to any NYC airport everthing is under water except the runways and some tall trees and buildings. All the land is covered with water every where. If I zoom out to see the East Coast, all the area covered by the NY Megascenery is under water.Next I went to the Mid-Atlantic area where I have Megascenery Mid-Atlantic and there all the land tiles are messed up. I see a repeated patteren of land. If I zoom out again all the area covered by Megascenery (old ver) is messed up.Is there something incompatable with SP1 and Megascenery (the old version)? I previously had everything loaded before SP1 working OK. Any comments?Joe C.
May 18, 200719 yr Author Joe... try changing the season to summer. Mega should work.(<<<< quick fix ) To get all seasons you actually have to port the sceneries over from FS9. What i did, install to FS9 and then use tool PC Aviator gives to port over that installation to FSX. My FS9 installation i am not even sure works with Vista i havent tried it I just use it to install legacy programs from FS9. To be trueful i havent tried NYC in fsx but i do know that North Atlantic works. Also make sure you use right resolution 5m in fs2004 sceneries. Now if they would make a program that adjusts resolution as you fly that would be helpful.GoodluckSteve
May 18, 200719 yr Hmmmm! Let see. Must be global warming. I am surprised they actually modeled that in the game. Seriously, FS9's earth is flat where FSX's earth is round.BTW. Is the empire state building half submerged too?
May 18, 200719 yr OK, will try tonight. But for Mid-Atlantic I "DID" use the exisiting installation from FS9. It the past, like for South. CA, the area would be gray for seasons not supplied. But like I said over the weekend I'll fool around with seaons and stuff and see what I can find out. Thanks.Joe C.
May 18, 200719 yr Author I thought they postponed Global Warming for five years... must read articles not just headlines....Steve
May 21, 200719 yr Thanks, Steve, that did it. I guess I never flown from NYC in the spring time! 8-)Setting to summer fixed the problem every where.Joe C.
