May 20, 200719 yr Has anyone noticed a problem at Dublin airport that when AI traffic is directed to Rwy28 they never get clearance to to take off.they just sit at the hold point until they disappear from the screen. They dont have a problem eith Rwy10 though. Also at Gatwick they get assigned to rwy 26R and 08L for takeoff and land on 26L/08R, and again they get stuck on the rwy.Rwy26R/08L is never used at EGKK.Does anyone know of any Updated Afcads for EGKK using just 26L/08R as in real life. Also one for EIDW as well.Pity theres no Traffic tools for FSX as its easy to change runways and move hold short nodes so they dont get stuck in FS2004.Ive seen updated Afcads for various airports in the download section so there must be a way somehow to change them in FSX but i dont have a clue how.Any info appreciated Many thanksRichard
May 20, 200719 yr Author The EIDW Rwy 28 start point has the same issue in FSX as in FS2004 - the final Hold Short Node on the taxipath to the runway is near enough Rwy 34, but too far from Rwy 28.For FS2004 we had to add a taxiway and a hold short node which was on Rwy 16/34 within 225 feed of Rwy 10/28. But it must be within 225 feet of the runway part, the overrun does not count as runway in FS.The first FSX airports created with replacements for AFCAD will start appearing in a few weeks.Right now people are working with a combination of decoding the FSX airport into XML, modifying it and recompiling. Burkhard Renk on the My Traffic support forums has produced a tool to make an FSX airport readable/ modifiable in AFCAD, and convert it and compile it as an FSX airport file. However, the advanced elements of FSX - jetways, fuel trucks, etc - can get messed up.Gatwick is a mess in FS.MS/ACES builds airports by the charts, which have Rwy 8L/26R. What has to be done is to turn it into a taxiway. Though putting all the landing traffic at EGKK on one runway with the takeoff traffic means AI almost never takeoff at the airport. An airport that busy cannot operate in FS without two runways active. You might want to look at the work being done with FSX Planner and Airport Design Editor on the scenery forums at www.fsdeveloper.com
