Easy way to create MSFS desktop shortcut

Featured Replies

Forgive me if this has been posted previously, but I noticed today that when the XBOX app had been updated, there was what seemed like a ridiculously easy way of creating an MSFS desktop shortcut that I hadn't known about.

  • After starting the XBOX app, its windows goes dark until (I'm just guessing here) it updates and reinstalls itself.
  • It then presents its "home" window in which "Microsoft Flight Simulator" should appear in the side bar on the left.
  • Hover the mouse above those words, and click on the three vertical dots which appear
  • Click on those dots and a dropdown menu appears, one item of which is "Create desktop shortcut"
  • Go on, you know you want to do it. Click on that item.

Voila, you get a brand spanking new MSFS desktop item, which seems to work fine.

Cheers.
