Avionics Bus for power

Featured Replies

I have a strange issue with the RXP 530 and the JustFlight Arrow III with REP. RXP is configured to power on with the avionics bus. As you can see from the screenshot, the avionics bus is off (and the battery too). The RXP530 is powered up in spite of this. I also have the REP for other aircraft (such as the C172) and this issue doesn't occur on those planes. Any troubleshooting tips?spacer.png

Hi,

Avionics Bus is merely binding to the equivalent dataref.

You might want to change this setting to an actual bus # so that it draws power from the actual bus.

Thanks for the quick reply! If I set power to Bus #1, this binds the power to the battery switch. This is better, but I'd like to power the RXP through the avionics switch. For other aircraft, when the avionics are off (as confirmed by the dataref), RXP is off, and when it is on (dataref==1) then RXP is on. There's something about this aircraft that's making it behave differently...

There is no real magic here: the setting directly binds power source logic to corresponding dataref*

If you're opening the aircraft with plane maker, you can find on the electrical details which bus powers the GPS, and then match this in the RXP GNS setting to get the same behavior! For example if in this aircraft the bus powering the gps is for example #4, you'd select #4 in the RXP GNS settings.

In the screenshot from my first post, RXP is configured to "Avionics Bus" which is supposed to be bound to sim/cockpit/electrical/avionics_on. The value for this ref is 0 because the avionics bus is off, but the RXP is powered up anyway. There's something odd about this aircraft. I also tried out all of the bus options in RXP but none of them work with the avionics switch. I'll keep trying different things and report back if I find anything.

Maybe there is a bug of some sort in our code but this is peculiar, because in this case, I really don't know why it would. The code is quite straightforward here: is the dataref 0? don't power, otherwise do power ?!

I wouldn't assume that since it works as expected in every other aircraft! I haven't had time to dig into this lately (sometimes real life gets in the way of simming, lol). I'll update this thread if I find anything.

I have the exact same issue.  Have you guys managed to resolve it?
