May 21, 200719 yr After installing FSX and SP1 three times to eliminate the following two problems I was unsuccessful with any settings. The sunlight reflections on the aircraft are missing and renders the aircraft as if they are in a shadow. The aircraft reflections on the water are missing completely.I can temporarily restore the sunlight effects my changing back and forth to any screen resolution by the options settings menu. But changing the current mode to the map mode and back, the sunlight effect disappears again. One other forum member responded to my problem but do any other members have this problem? If so, have you been able to solve it?Thankstbearflying
May 22, 200719 yr Author I guess we are the only two with this problem. I remember that before SP1, only addon planes did this. The only other thing I remember from before is the CRJ had a wierd shadow like something with a straight edge like a wall was hanging over the plane. You could fly around the outside of the plane in spot view and it would cover part of the plane, etc. It doesn't do that now but then of ciourse we have the curent issue instead.Sorry, I wish I had a suggestion to fix it. Maybe it is because we have Vista Home Premium. What are your system specs?Mine are:P4 D Core Duo 3.2G, 1G RAM, Vista Home Premium, No Video card (Intel 946 graphics chip), no sound card (onboard Realtech)Earl
May 22, 200719 yr Earl,I think you are right. I have a new Toshiba Laptop A135-S4527 with an Intel T2080 Dual Core Processor with 1 gig of RAM. The video graphics is handled onboard by Mobile Intel 945GM/GU Express Chipset with driver issued in April 2007 Driver 7.14.10.1255.I have learned that each processor uses 512 mb of ram so I ordered new RAM cards to provide 1 gig of RAM for each processor. The built in video RAM can utilize upto 228 mb of this RAM to produce the graphics. I am a rooky at this but computer may not be sharing the video properly to utilize the combination of the two RAM cards.Co-incident to adding SP1 to my computer, I lost my sceensaver function. It was working correctly upto this addition. Believe it or not the solution to get the sceensaver working again was to change the delay interval originally set at 10 minutes to any other minute setting and it resumed working.Go figure. Thanks again Earl,Ted alias tflyingbear
