April 12, 20224 yr The manual fuel pump mentioned in the manual's checklist is the throttle. Just like on a car (the carb will flood if you mash the gas pedal repeatedly, because it is a fuel pump). Yank the throttle lever up and down. The battery is for the radio and lights. It is not connected to the starting system (as the manual explains). The manual is buried in that airplane's subfolder (well hidden). Need a cold and dark parking spot on the water? Start flight at a paved official parking spot at an airport near lake or sea. Slew over to the water and you're all set.
