April 17, 20224 yr Now let me start. I am no expert but I do get obsessed with trying to get the best performance I can I always had in the Oculus app set at 1x as anything above although improved the instrument sharpness introduced stutters when looking out the side. I am low and slow so this was ruining it for me hence dropped down to 1x. in the openxr app this was also set at 100%. ( the app NOT the open Xr toolkit). Now when I tried raising the resolution in the oculus app I did not change it the open xr app. Now today I have tried raising the open xr resolution app to 130% and then set in the oculus app 1.3 x 4228 x 2128. Hey presto still smooth out the sides and the instrument clarity improved. Going above 1.3x seems to suffer. I do not know if this is a placebo if I am imagining it but it certainly seems better to me. I tested in New York daytime flying between 500-1000 feet in the just flight Warrior and it was great. The graphics are still not “amazing” but I am sure this has improved it i run 90 hz. I do have 3 monitors attached I find if I turnoff the one msfs is shown on it does seem to start stuttering so leave this on My specs are a 3080 on a i7 12700k with 32 Gig ddr5. The order Set it all up is turn on quest 2 launch the oculus try tool launch oculus app connect via link cable Then launch debug tool Toggle window visibility ( do Not Minimise window leave it maximised) this restarts oculus app. Reconnect to pc in the app via the link cable (don’t allow data) Launch msfs- I do this via the Xbox app set up flight in 2d Fly now once loaded switch to vr After about 2 months of frustration and messing with settings I am finally at a quality / smoothness to enjoy it New York is great navigating between the buildings i appreciate everyone’s setup is different and this change in matching the resolution in open Xr app to oculus app may be pure imagination but I hope this helps anyone who was getting as frustrated as I was 😎 Edited April 17, 20224 yr by Bozdog 3080rtx on a i7 12700k with 32 Gig ddr5. 2gig Ssd Quest 2 Windows 11
