Will Azure voices work in P2A?

Featured Replies

I think I am deciding between Amazon Polly and Microsoft Azure, though I haven't seen any evidence that Azure is actually compatible with P2A. Is it?

If so, does anyone have direct experience with Azure in P2A and XP11?

Or is Amazon Polly my only option in this case?

Thanks!

I haven't tried Azure in P2A but imagine it would work just like any other voice service (long as Windows sees it). I may be wrong, but I believe Azure is subscription (pay per minute) use. So you may want to verify.

Polly is good, but unreliable in P2A (requires constant restarts to get it to work). Once it is working it doesn't quit which is nice, just a pain at the start.

If you are looking for another alternative, I would suggest checking out Cereproc. They are pricy but work 100% of the time and sound great. I run a mix of 13 of their voices.

The other thing with Azure, I see (in the forums) how often Azure services go offline / are un available so not sure if that would affect a direct user as well.
