April 27, 20224 yr So far, this is happening in the Asobo C172 Classic (the one with the steam gauges) and Just Flight's Arrow 3. It may affect other aircraft too, so I'm interested to know whether anyone else is experiencing it. In the Arrow, the radio panel illumination is fine - it's only the lighting on the gauges. Similar with the C172. It's not a regular flicker, more like a loose wire - irregular, starts and stops etc. Anyone else got this ? April 30, 20224 yr Author Well, I thought I'd reply to myself, with a few thoughts in case anyone else ever searches this forum with the same problem in the future. I haven't found out why the flickering happens - it still occurs after an Nvidia driver roll-back, and temporarily renaming the Community folder. I've now re-installed the latest driver (512.59), and at the moment there's no flickering at all. That's not to say it won't return, however When it happens, it seems to stop when I move the viewpoint closer to the panel, or even just tilt the view up or down. Some have said it occurs when the sun is behind the aircraft, but I've not been able to replicate that. I've tried setting after setting, but broadly, it seems completely random. The only thing I have noticed is that it seems to flicker along with the shadows inside the VC - it's not a fixed frequency, but rather intermittent, as if there's a loose electrical connection. One person has suggested that changing from live weather during a flight to one of the presets, or vice versa, can sometimes fix it. He speculates that the custom weather can also trigger it, if you go from that to one of the presets - or back. Changing anti-aliasing from TAA to either of the other settings has no effect during the flickering. All in all, after hours of trying things out, I still haven't a clue. Right now, everything is fine but if that's because of something I've done, I can't tell. Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting. https://rationalwiki.org
