  1. Got the 2.2.0 update - only a couple of circuits done, but impressed so far.
  2. Try Just Flight's BAe146 and Avro RJ - they are/were common sights at London City, and both are excellent.
  3. Nice, but unfortunately for MSFS2020 only.
  4. Thanks for this, Howard - I'm a firm believer in clearing caches, particularly after updating drivers, so this tool is worth exploring.
  5. Yes, a very pleasant surprise - I had no idea the AN2 was being updated. So many great aircraft now in MSFS2024.
  6. For full historic immersion, will I be able to stand in a carriage between Yokohama and Tokyo, while a group of Japanese schoolgirls giggle and point at me ? 🙄
  7. I don't wear pink, but I do eat quiche. 😘
  8. You have to enable Steam Overlay in the game, too. Go to the MSFS2024 icon in your Steam library, right click on it and select Properties, then ensure this is enabled.
  9. I was just about to start a thread on this, too. Wonderful news about the DC-6. It's the aircraft that persuaded me to look at this new Microsoft 2020 simulator thing, and abandon P3D. Can't wait for the 2024 version - thank you, RSR!
  10. For me, the 1980s were spent in the Pacific, Japan, and the Far East generally, especially Singapore. People don't believe half the stories I tell them, but the memories are mine.
  11. iPads also become problematic if they don't have the right time and date. Worth remembering.
  12. I intend to do a trans-Australia flight to test the endurance of the default HU-16 /G111 Albatross under extremely lean mixture settings, sampling SU5's Oz update en route. The route is Learmonth YPLM in Western Australia to Shellharbour YSHL in New South Wales, via Alice Springs, which I shall overfly unless I need a fuel top-up to reach YSHL. This is in anticipation of a RTW trip, and whether to cross the Pacific eastbound from Hawaii to California, or south of the equator from Mataveri SCIP to Carriel Sur Intl. SCIE in Chile.
  13. Thank you! I didn't know this could be done - very handy tip.
  14. I picked it up at Duxford's charity bookshop for about a tenner ! 😄
  15. Hi Rob, I think the single-engined one comes with the freebie - I haven't had a close look, but I think I saw it while scrolling through the aircraft library. I do find interwar aviation fascinating - I'm currently reading 'Highways To The Empire' by Colin Cruddas. 'Britain's Imperial Air Routes' by Robin Higham and Alex Henshaw's 'Flight Of The Mew Gull' are sitting on the shelf, so this Fokker should be grabbing me more than it is. Thanks for the info about a possible FS24 update - maybe it will appeal more after that. Which reminds me - I really should drag Tukan Flightsim's Ford Trimotor into FS24, and see how it behaves. Isn't flight simming fun ?? 😃
  16. I did consider buying this at some point in the past, so I'm glad I waited - it wouldn't have been worth the money. A nice freebie though, even if only for one flight and then my virtual boneyard.
  17. Australia has always been one of my favourite areas in the world for flight simming, going right back to VOZ in FSX. You had everything - bush flying, city environments, snow-covered mountains, long-haul flights (e.g., Brisbane to Perth ), and, being surrounded by sea, you never flew outside the enhanced scenery. It was also nostalgic for me as a one-time resident ( I lived near Parafield, where, as a boy, I first saw something called a Cessna ). Love the place, love the people there, and consider myself an honorary Australian. 😁
  18. JF has undertaken an enormous amount of work to provide free MSFS2024 upgrades to their entire FS20 range in the last 18 months. That might be responsible for the slip in the Fokker release date, don't you think?
  19. I'm currently mapping controls in MSFS2024 ( again ! ) and I can't find any reference to oil cooler flaps/gills/whatever. The superb HU-16 has oil temp controls, but at the moment, I can only point and click with the mouse. I'd like to assign them to my Loupedeck Live, but can't find any reference to oil coolers in the sim's controls menus. Any idea, folks ?
  20. I'd really rather not come back again, even if they do have MSFS 2080. One dose of this lunatic planet is enough to last many lifetimes.
  21. Yes, I got the upgrade discount for those who already own the FS2020 version. It's applied at the checkout.
  22. He might be stuck in the Straits of Hormuz.
  23. Go on, do it - you know you want to. If we don't see you post here again, we'll know the turns were too tight. 😄
