May 6, 20224 yr So every 15 minutes or so my passengers scream and I look up to see my altitude and speed way off from where it was moments ago. I don't remember this happening last time I did a real flight, a few months back, so I'm assuming it's a new thing that has to do with the new METAR system. Has anyone found a workaround? Are people flying with a weather preset now, and if so, do presets use the ASOBO dynamic weather engine where conditions realistically evolve over time? Are people using REX, and if so, does it have weather smoothing so you don't lose 40 knots in 2 seconds when the METAR updates? Just trying to figure out how you guys are getting around this issue. Thanks! Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory. The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire. To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune. There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you. It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.
May 6, 20224 yr I've had a few here and there since the METAR integration happened. It's quite annoying and sometimes kills the immersion. I know it's just growing pains but when it happens it's quite jarring. Overall though, the weather depiction is far better than it's been in the past. They just need to continue to work on smoothing and blending. Former Child, Current Adult
