May 16, 20224 yr My Content Manager was showing I had 0 content, no official content, no third party content. Nothing. The sim still loaded and worked however. Sometimes your Content Manager can show 0 content even when most of the content is installed, is there, and working fine. As we know content is stored under Official and in Community folders. Asobo's cloud keeps a non corrupted version of all the Official content which it can be used to restore your content if it becomes corrupted. You yourself have to keep content in Community non corrupted and able to parse correctly. You can't have 0 content in both Community and Official because even the Standard version of MSFS has lots and lots of content which is installed under the Official folder on your drive. If Content Manager is showing 0 content in the sim, then it almost certainly is lying to you. And it will do just that under certain conditions. Some content has dependencies, such as content on flightsim.to, may list dependencies that you need to help run an addon correctly. Keeping all your Community addons correct and able to parse is complicated. If you make a mistake, then MSFS usually can see the mistake, and Content Manager will just tell you the faulty addon is not installed. But it will be listed. And all the proper content will be listed in Content Manager too. So you just have to go clean up the content in Community that Content Manager says is 'not installed'. But if Content Manager ever shows 0 content listed, that is most probably a lie. You will see that most or all of your Asobo free planes (like the free Reno racer planes) and your phtotogrammetry cities and bespoke airports show up in the game, even though Content Manage says you have 0 content of any kind. Most of your Community addons will be there too, and work fine in the game. If Content Manager ever says you have 0, then unless you have erased your Official and Community folders, it means that Content Manager is stuck in a loop trying to read and then list for you all of your content. It gives up and says you have 0. But almost all of that content is still in the sim. While playing the sim, MSFS can find most of the content it needs OK and uses it, because it is not trying to examine all of your content, it only is looking at what it needs right then. It will probably CTD only whenever it makes a call to the faulty addon which has confused Content Manager. To fix the 0 content listed in Content Manager, you have to find the culprit content (usually in Community instead of under Official). Remove the bad content and then instantly Content Manger will be able to find and then correctly list all your hundreds of content items. Most often is one of the last addon's you installed in Community. Removing the last ones installed and putting some back one or two at a time is a good plan to find the improper addon. Windows file explorer can arrange folders by date to remind you which content was last installed. So in short, a listing of 0 content in Content Manager really is just an indication that some of the content cannot be parsed and Content Manager has given up. But most of your content is still in the game and will still work. You still need to fix the error, but you have not lost nor corrupted all of your content. There is probably just one or two tiny errors. If you don't fix the error, then you cannot use Content Manager which means for instance you can't install any more content from future Asobo World Updates. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel.
