May 19, 20224 yr Hi, when i fly (or better land) the Cessna Caravan and put the thrust in Reverse everything wors as expected until i put the thrust beck to idle. For some reasons the propeller speeds up again and generates forward thrust which makes the plane dash forward which i need to stop with the brakes. Why is this the case? Condition Lever is in High, Prop lever is above 90% when i touch down. Any suggestions? Thanks.
May 20, 20224 yr Author I should probably clarify: Shortly before touchdown i cut the throttle. When on the ground i engage reverse thrust and push the lever down until i slowed down enough. I then again press the key to cut throttle. And then, for some reasons the propeller generates a dash of forward thrust again which basically speeds up my plane again. What do i do wrong?

If you use reverse as an on-off switch (ie you set it so that there is no gradation of reverse with a movable control) then when you stop full reverse the prop switches to almost full forward while the prop speed winds down to idle or high idle thrust. That's why you get a sudden surge forward. The solution is to try and set a control so the reverse levers are controllable in increments. This is quite difficult to do but possible. Or you could use the mouse to pull the lever gradually back to idle although I am not sure this is possible with twin engine turbo props in MSFS. May 20, 20224 yr Author Actually i set the reverse thrust in increments. But then i use the "Cut Throttle" command to go back to...well no reverse and no forward throttle. So why would the prop switch to full forward in this case? I already tried to slowly bring the throttle back up from reverse but at some point it always wants to dash forward when the throttle is cut. Thanks
May 21, 20224 yr Author Just tried it again, using the mouse this time to put the lever from reverse trust back to idle (or "off"). Still after that the propeller/engine produced a small surge of forward trust. I really dont know what i do wrong. Or maybe that behaviour is realistic?
