How to Get ATC to Give You an ILS Runway

Featured Replies

I'd like to practice my ILS approaches for GA and small jet aircraft at Airports that have an ILS. I've set-up a short flight in a LearJet from Orlando to Jacksonville which as several ILS runways. ATC always routes me to Runway 31, a non-ILS runway, I don't get an option in the ATC window to select another runway, one having an ILS.What do I need to do to get ATC to give me a ILS runway? I feel like responding, screw-you Im landing on runway 7/25, but that's not an option in the ATC window.

ATC will only offer you alternate runways which are parallel to the main runway.Set the weather/ winds to make 7 or 25 as the active runway.By using a saved flight, you are setting the weather to be the same, and the runways the same very time you try the flight.I'd also recommend you use Jim Vile's updated file for KJAX in the library - http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID...fcad&DLID=94274
