SteamVR and Vive Console start automatically

Featured Replies

Hello,

I changed from Pimax 5k to Vive Pro 2. I can tell, that this decision was very good for me as I really like the easy handling with the vive and the perfect clear view.

1. Whenever I start MSFS, SteamVR and Vive Console start now automatically when I arrive at the main menu. I still remain in 2d.

This is not big problem, though I dont understand why it is like this. I would prefer, that these services only start when I start them manually, especially with Ctrl + tab. That was also the only way with my Pimax, which also useses steam vr. Sometimes when I close these services (still in 2d) I get a CTD.

2. I also see, that in contrast to Pimax it is not longer possible to switch back from 3d to 2d and then back again to 3d within the flight. It would work basically but it seems that than steam vr, msfs and vive console are kind of confusing produceing glitches and i dont get any playable framerates back.

Does one of you has these experiences too and may has a solution?

Thanks for your help!

Christoph

I have a Quest 2 and I also get severe performance degradation if I switch out of VR and back again when a flight is active. So I never do that except on accident.
