Hi, just updated to 2.9.7.0 and when I ask the co-pilot to handle the comms, he says he will and then doesn't, just ignores the radio completely.

I tried rebooting MCE twice and still the same, does everything else I ask of him, and says he will look after the radio, but then doesn't.

It was working fine before I updated, however, it had been a while since I had updated. The version that I was using previous to the update was 2.9.0.0.

It is installed in the default place, and I'm running Windows 10 64bit. any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks

I assume you are referring to Native ATC.

Which flight sim platform?

Thanks

Hi, yes native ATC on P3D V4. I also tried an uninstall and re-install to no effect

I have since put version 2.9.0.0 back on and it is working fine.

Strange. That platform is pretty much static.

Try asking co-pilot "confirm ATC options"

If a TTS voice eads out aloud the content of the P3D ATC window at any time, you should be good to go, otherwise, MCE won't be able to make accurate selection.

What you say will be recognized, but unless there is an option in the menu that would handle it, no selection will take place.

Please confirm. Otherwise will be looked at.

Which fsInsider64.dll version do you have in \Pepar3D v4\ installation folder?

Hi, sorry it took a while, had to set everything up.

When I ask him for ATC Options, he first says "ATC Options Are" then a robotic voice gives Ground and ATIS Frequencies.

So I assume that is what you expected?? also fsinsider64 version is 2.8.5.5

Its really strange because he does everything else, if I ask for Flaps or Gear Etc. he does it perfectly and when I say "You have the Comms" he replies.. "My radio Captain" or similar but then when ATC asks for a handover or anything else, just does nothing.

When I put version 2.9.0.0 back on, it all works as it should. so its very odd.. and frustrating lol !!!

Appreciate the help

OK, I suggest the following.

Save the older fsInsider64.dll somewhere else.

Re-install latest V2.9.7.0

Then if having issues using the very latest dll, overwrite the one put by the installer with the older version.

Let me know if it was necessay to replace the dll.

Ok, I'll have a go at it tomorrow afternoon and get back to you with results.

Thanks for the time you're putting in.

Hi,

ok, I installed the latest MCE and still the same, however, I found that, when he didn't reply to ATC, if I then asked him to confirm ATC options, he would do that and then respond to ATC straight afterwards.

But then the next time, just ignored them again. so asked for ATC options again and he then replied to ATC afterwards. so not sure whether that helps or not.

Anyway, replaced fsinsider.dll as instructed with the older version and it worked perfectly so i'm guessing it has something to do with that .dll file..

Very helful feedback. Thanks

Having the same issue. Same platform using P3Dv4.5

For clarity, which folder should the operating fsinsider be installed? Version 2.9.1.9 is in /P3Dv4 and 2.8.5.5 is in /P3Dv4/modules.

Thanks for your help

For P3D V4 & V5, there should be fsInsider64.dll (not fsInsider.dll) in main \Prepar3D V4orV5\ installation folder. Delete the one in \Modules\ folder.

I doubt it loads anyway.

Hi Gerald,

I'm going to be doing some work on my system tomorrow so I will need to uninstall a lot of stuff, including flightsim.. probably going to take me the best part of the day and maybe even into the next, so I'll look in to a few things when I'm reinstalling and let you know if I find anything useful.

That was my lack of detail in typing.  I'm normally more attentive than that. But yes, fsinsider64.dll is what I was referencing.  I had successful results with the older 2.8.5.5 version of that file.

Hi Gerald,

I have done a complete re-install of my OS and re-installed Flight sim as before after doing the work on my system.

Installed MCE 2.9.7.0 and the problem was still there with the fsinsider64.dll version 2.9.1.9. swapped it for version 2.8.5.5 and it was fine so the problem seems to be confined to that .dll version.

Other add-ons I have running are the complete Orbx Global, Active Sky for Weather and Spad.Next for all the controls.

All my drivers are up to date and everything is working as it should with no conflicts.

Don't know if all that info is of help, but hope it is in some way.

Hang on to that dll.

The most recent is mostly required for Prepar3D V5 and GSX integration in particular.
