July 2, 20223 yr I've watched several YouTube videos and the indicted documentation for the installation and use of AIG AI Manager (v1.1.0.108), but I cannot for the life of me figure out where I have gone wrong. When I try to install an online flightplan using the OCI, the task is aborted with a message "Please activate AIGAIM-OCI using the settings." >SETTINGS>AIGAIM-OCI reveals that all fields appear to be compiled as per tutorials. OCI-Directory points to my MSFS Community Folder, AIGTC directory pointing to where I have parked AIG Traffic Controller, I'm logged into AVSIM Library. I press the setup button and I'm returned to the AIG AI Manager OCI Settings Page (General). I press SAVE in the top right corner (not sure what this does ... appears to be nothing ... no confirmation or anything to suggest anything happened). Yet I continue to get this error each time I try to install a flightplan. Thoughts? RM Killins
July 2, 20223 yr I recommend examining your "Log_AIManager.txt", or you can either post it here where we might hopefully be able to figure it out, or in the AIG forum where Kaiii3 constantly monitors for support. https://www.alpha-india.net/forums/index.php?board=313.0 Can you confirm that your version shows MSFS2020, I made a folder c:/Apps and placed the AI Manager and Traffic Controller folder in there. Then I right clicked on the exec files for both apps, and set them to "run as admin". I hit the "setup" icon, and allowed the installer to install in the root of my C drive. I ended up with C:\ aig-aitraffic-oci-beta on my C drive, during the setup process the installer made symbolic link for that folder so that it appears in my community folder. The symbolic link in my community folder looks like this, but the folder is actually in C:\ aig-aitraffic-oci-beta There is also an AIG "aig-aitraffic-oci-beta_CVT" folder. When the sim loads a mod from FSX that is not in the native MSFS format it will convert the old files, then create a CVT folder in the community folder, and place those converted files inside. Some of AIG's file names are quite long, here is one example C:\Users\userX\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community\aig-aitraffic-oci-beta_CVT_\SIMOBJECTS\AIRPLANES\AIGAIM_FAIB_A320-200NEO_CFM\TEXTURE.FFT-FRONTIER AIRLINES_N367FR AUSTIN THE NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD\"FAIB_A320_CFML_L.DDS.8.E29.015.CVT.NNZ" By default windows has a "MAX_PATH limit of ~256 characters", so I did the registry tweak to enable long file names. I copy/pasted the AIG CVT folder out of the community folder into c:\mods to avoid any issues. Then I linked it back to community with MSFS Addonslinker. Edited July 2, 20223 yr by Waldo Pepper
July 2, 20223 yr Link to a post Kaii3 made about long file names. https://www.alpha-india.net/forums/index.php?topic=37294.0 Edited July 2, 20223 yr by Waldo Pepper
July 2, 20223 yr Author Thank you Waldo Pepper. I'm not sure what I did, but I have found success eventually. I think it had something to do with my Community Folder. I seem to have two. I have one on the main drive <user>/AppData/Local/Packages/Microsoft.GamingServices_8wekyb3d8bbwe/LocalCache/Packages/Community/ which has the aig-aitraffic-oci-beta folder in it. Other than it, it's empty. I also have a "Community" folder on my MSFS working drive: W:/MSFS/Community. Not sure how it got there or why, perhaps part of using MSFS AddonsLinker, but it has all my addons in (albeit perhaps just links?) it. It also has aif-aitraffic-oci-beta in it , along with aig-aitraffic-oci-bets_CVT_ , however, not links. It is the latter in which I have AIGAIM-OCI set as current path of aig-aitraffic-oci-beta. I never got the 255 character limit error likely because it's not in the AppData folder. So confusing this community folder, and MSAddonsLinker blah blah blah. I'm not sure if I can delete the instance in the AppData folder or not now fearing messing things up. In the MSFS/Community folder, I'm not sure if those are just links to somewhere else (the exception being the aig folders) or if this is indeed the actual working Community folder (can't explain the odd icons with the arrow). July 2, 20223 yr If it works, I'd probably let it alone. /Actually, I'd probably mess with it until I broke it. 😁
