July 9, 20223 yr When I wrote about the movie The Body Snatchers and the mudbaths in Calistoga I am familiar with them and with the area since my parents moved out of their home in Mill Valley and moved to a mobile home park in Calistoga right next to the gliderport. When I was stationed at Hill Field in Utah I used to drive to California to visit my brother and parents. In fact I once flew my kids out there in a Cherokee 180. That's when they still lived in Mill Valley and I landed at Gnoss Field in Novato where my brother picked me up. I'll have to tell you about that flight sometime. It was my second longest cross country. I landed in Reno to refuel. I addition to my first mudbath I had my first sailplane flight there. Alas, the gliderport is now gone, but it is standard equipment in Orbx Northern California. Have my DG808 hangared there and sometimes get the Maule tow and soar to the San Rafael airport. Don't you love it when a scenery for a simulator replicates things you are familiar with? Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.
