New to P3D, FMC TIMEOUT issue.

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

Hope you're all well. I'm quite new to P3D and just purchased aviaCDU along with the PMDG 777 addon.

Unfortunately whenever I open any CDU on my ipad, I get the message "FMC TIMEOUT", and when I right click aviaserver, it is always indicating "waiting to connect".

My "777X_Options" file in the PMDG 777X folder has been edited to include:

[SDK]
EnableDataBroadcast=1
EnableCDUBroadcast.0=1
EnableCDUBroadcast.1=1
EnableCDUBroadcast.2=1
EnableEFBBroadcast.0=1
EnableEFBBroadcast.1=1

I am running a firewall(Eset) and have opened ports "32111-32118", still to no avail. Heck even if I open a firefox/chrome window on the same PC P3D is installed on i still get "FMC TIMEOUT".

Could anyone suggest what I could do to try and get aviaCDU to work?

Many thanks.

Chewy

Just to add a bit more detail.

I've selected "check compatibility of my addons" and aviaserver has "found" my P3D and PMDG 777.

I have aviaServer running, with the icon appearing on the system tray(PC), before I start P3D and I also wait for the PMDG 777 initialisation to completely before selecting the CDU. However aviaCDU still indicates "waiting to connect".

So is my issue P3D not communicating with aviaServer/CDU or is aviaServer/CDU not broadcasting the correct info? (or both?)

Thanks everyone for your help.

Charlie T.

Apologies all for the trouble.

Self resolved! I had missed the little "'gem" in the aviaServer manual about installing "FSX-SP2-XPACK SimConnect". After installing that aviaCDU works perfectly!

Please delete the thread moderators if you feel that is appropriate

Kind regards

Chewy

Hi Chewy,

sorry for not getting back to you earlier.

Anyway, I'm happy to hear you got it resolved! Happy flying 👍
