Bloom in low visibility - Its a Whiteout

Featured Replies

Is it just me? When I turn on Bloom in low visibility (like FOG), All I get is a white out. Primarily from VC but also from spot view.IS this an issue with my video card or is it a problem with FSX? Its a shame, cause doing IFR in IMC with bloom turned on would be nice. But It looks like I can't do both. Its either Bloom or low visbility. But not both.Manny

I did a landing a few days ago with bloom turned on and flying in fog. I did not have a white out effect at all. Are you using the default FSX lights? I downloaded a different halo file that is supposed to be better when you use the bloom option. I don't know the name of the file, but it can be found here on Avsim. You might want to give it a try.

Hey, No I don't think it has to do with the halo... I have the same issue... I think its a graphics card issue or driver issue... Not a 100% sure... Again I just completed a landing at KLIT and vis. was low with scatterd T-Storms... As soon as I started my approach to final white out, turned bloom off and I was good to go... If you figure something out let me know... Keep the blue side up....
