I have been away for a few months and now I find myself far behind with the versions.

Can I uninstall the old version and install the new one or do you advise me to save some files?

I'm fine thank you.

For MSFS you can just install the new version, without uninstalling the  old one. (Normal procedure).

However, I recommend that you go through the release notes. The start batch files have been removed for instance.
