GTN 750 AND GNS 530 REAL NAV DATA compatibility

Featured Replies

I believe that Real Nav Data source only ever worked with the Mindstar branded simulator GPS.  Reality XP products use the true Garmin databases as RXP products have as their foundation the actual Garmin Trainer software.  Garmin used one set of consistent databases for both GNS and GTN series up until approximately 2016.  At that time due to the advent of GPS/RNAV approaches, the World database grew too large for the capacity of the GNS series and data for the GNS needed to be split into regional databases.  The format continued the same.  Also at that time Garmin began using a different format for its GTN database(s).

The updates for the RXP GTN models come when Garmin updates its GTN trainer, approximately once a year, and RXP has continuously updated its GTN gauges accordingly.

Just out of current status Garmin GNS databases have in the past been commonly shared by RXP GNS users, much like back 5-10 years ago and before many simulator enthusiasts would gain recently expired paper charts from friends who were pilots.
