August 15, 20223 yr I purchased RXP GNS430W for SR22 Entegra from TorqueSim and am trying to update the aviation database using Navigraph fms data manager with no luck. After I update the database (with no errors) and launch X-Plane 11 I keep seeing the old expired 2016 database which came with the RXP GNS430W. Does anyone know if this can be done? And, if so, any help in guiding me how to do it is much appreciated.
August 15, 20223 yr No, it can't be done with Navigraph data. The RXP Garmins are an interface between the Garmin trainer software and the flight sim. The Garmin trainers incorporate a copy of a recent but outdated real-world Jeppesen nav database. To get updated nav data you either to wait for a periodic update of the trainer (usually about every 18 months or so), or obtain a real-world nav database and put it into the Garmin trainer. Those databases are hundreds of dollars each, so most folks run with the older navdata and accept that there will be occasional differences between the GPS and current nav data.
